About US!

Girls’Net is a South African youth driven multimedia programme that gets girls actively involved with technology for their development. The GN web site is a space created for girls and by girls where they can get info on relevant topics, air their views on social issues, communicate with other girls, express themselves creatively, and a place where they can exchange thoughts and ideas on just about anything!

But Girls’Net is more than a website...it also involves:

  • Training camps
  • Provincial clubs
  • Girls'Net newsletter
  • Girls'Net radio productions

Girls'Net started in 2004 with four technical training camps that resulted in the creation of unique provincial Girls’Net clubs. Girls'Net is a project of Women’sNet, an NGO that uses information & communication technologies (ICTs) to help women & girls develop themselves. The programme is supported by club mentors, the Girl'sNet club-elected officials, the Women’sNet team and different partners.

We would like to thank Hivos for their generous support in making Girls'Net a empowering programme for SA girls!
