But, we need to have information so that we can protect ourselves and make decisions that help build our self esteem. This is a afct sheet,produced by the United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS, and gives a summary of some interesting facts and resources about African girls and HIV. For instance, did you know that in South Africa, a study found that caring for people with HIV/AIDS has eaten up as much as 60% of the time women and girls used to spend doing other housework or gardening - which means we have less time for growing food to sell or eat.
