ABOUT GIRLS'NET Girls’Net is a South African programme that gets girls actively involved with technology for their development. Our aim is to use ICTs to help girls realise their full potential. The Girls’Net website creates a space for and by girls where they can get information on relevant topics, air their views on social issues, interact with other girls and express themselves creatively. It is a place where they can exchange thoughts and ideas on just about anything! Content on this site is written, edited and/or sourced by Girls’Net club members, with the occasional assistance from club mentors and the Project Coordinator. However, Girls’Net is much more than the website. Our activities also include: - Training camps Girls’Net is a project of Women’sNet, a non-governmental organisation that uses information and communication technologies (ICTs) to help women and girls develop themselves through amplifying their voices for social action. Girls’Net started in 2004 with four all-girl technical training camps that resulted in the creation of unique provincial Girls’Net clubs. The project is supported by club mentors (link to mentors section), the Girls’Net club-elected officials (link to club page), the Women’sNet team and a range of partners.
