Women'sNet Archive

(Started in September 1999)

The Women'sNet web site was launched in March 1998. Some of the material on the site such as old news pieces, or event-specific information like Women's Month 1999, is no longer current. However, we have decided to keep this material in an archive, so that it can still be accessed for reference purposes. You can still use our "search this site" facility to find this material. This page is a guide to the contents of the archive.

  • Women's Month August 1999
Women's month is a time for South African women and men to celebrate every woman who fought, and fights, for freedom. This resource is intended to help users understand both the origins of Women's Day - why August 9th? - and what this day and month means for us now. It is about the exchange of ideas, celebration, events and education.
