South African Women and Enterprise

"We have learned that when women gain sustainable livelihoods the health, nutrition, and education of other members of the household, especially children, improve at the same time. Several studies suggest that income is much more likely to be spent on human development when women control the cash. In Brazil, both women's income and men's improve the nutritional status of families, but women's income has an effect about seven times that of men."
