Small Projects Foundation: Pharmacist
The Small Projects Foundation seeks to appoint a Pharmacist for an AIDS Action Programme sited at Canzibe Hospital, Canzibe, Eastern Cape (former Transkei).
Responsibilities:
- Provide the efficient and professional dispensing of medication to patients who are infected by HIV/AIDS
- Prepare monthly statistics and submit these to the ARV Unit Manager
- Take stock, place orders and receive stock
- Accurately record the dispensed medication
- Interact with the Doctor and the Professional Nurses regarding prescription enquiries
- Communicate with hospital management
Requirements:
- Appropriate degree/National Diploma in Pharmacy
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ pharmaceutical experience in a hospice environment
- Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council as a Pharmacist
- Dynamic, self-motivated self-manager
- Valid driver’s license
- Competency in Microsoft computer programmes
- Ability to work under pressure
- Comfortable to work in rural areas
- Good interpersonal relations
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of the National ARV Framework and National Framework for delivery on HIV/AIDS services
- Knowledge of regulations that govern pharmacy dispensing
