Violence Against Women in South Africa

Soul City developed this journalist resource book as part of our contribution to positive reporting on the issue of Violence Against Women. The book was co-produced with the NNVAW, Women's Media Watch, Institute for the Advancement of Journalism (IAJ), Commission on Gender Equality(CGE)

Violence against women violates a number of clauses in the Bill of Rights. For example, Section 12: the right to freedom and security. This specifically includes the right to be free from violence from both private and public sources.

This resource is for journalists and activists on violence against women, to help improve coverage on the issue in the media.
