Calling fellow activists!
Are you a women’s rights or sexual rights activist who uses the internet to build your campaigns? Do you rely on the internet to access information on rights and reproductive health? Are you someone who uses social media to advocate, organise and mobilise around gender, women’s rights or information rights issues in South Africa? If you have answered yes to any of these questions, this workshop is for you!
We believe that the internet is a potentially transformative space. Access to information and communications technologies (ICTs) has become central to social, political, economic, and cultural life. But, the internet is also a gendered space and women still remain among the largest proportion of citizens without access, privacy and freedom of expression online.
The workshop will be an opportunity to acquire new skills and knowledge around how the internet affects women and LGBTIQ persons, and how we can build a feminist internet that is inclusive. Come to be part of a network of activists who actively and collectively drive forward the agenda of bringing women and sexuality concerns to the forefront of our areas of work!
